5K Volunteers & Running Buddies

Volunteers make our 5K celebration possible and help make the day memorable for every girl! The 5K will be at Sugar House Park on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Hydration Stations
  • Cheer Squads
  • Setup & Cleanup
  • Running Buddies

RUNNING BUDDIES: A community Running Buddy completes the 5K (and team practice 5K) alongside a program participant for the entire duration of the course by encouraging her to do her best while recognizing her limits.

  • All Running Buddies are race participants who must register for the race online. The $35 entry fee includes a shirt, race bib, finisher medal, and swag bag.
  • Community Running Buddies will be paired with a team or program participant in May.
  • Community Running Buddies must be 18+ and pass a background check.

Please note that all 5K volunteers appointed through our council will undergo a background check paid for by Girls on the Run Utah. If you have questions, please contact us at mindy@girlsontherunutah.org.
